AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 3513

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3513 as follows:
 
3by replacing line 9 on page 36 through line 2 on page 38 with
4the following:
5    "(n) A practical nurse licensed by a party state under the
6Nurse Licensure Compact under Article 80 of this Act is granted
7the privilege to practice practical nursing in this State. The
8employer of a practical nurse exercising the practice privilege
9afforded under this subsection (n) who provides direct patient
10care in Illinois shall file a report with the Department as
11determined by rule. The report shall be in a form and manner
12designated by the Department and shall include without
13limitation the name, address, social security number, and
14current licensure information of the nurse and any other
15information deemed necessary by the Department, as defined by
16rule. The Department may revoke or limit the multistate
17licensure privilege of any practical nurse to practice in

1Illinois necessary to protect the health and safety of the
2public.
3    (o) A practical nurse licensed by a party state under the
4Nurse Licensure Compact under Article 80 of this Act shall be
5denied the privilege to practice by the Department if he or
6she: (1) has been convicted of a criminal act that requires
7registration under the Sex Offender Registration Act; (2) has
8been convicted of a criminal battery against any patient in the
9course of patient care or treatment, including any offense
10based on sexual conduct or sexual penetration; (3) has been
11convicted of a forcible felony; (4) is required as a part of a
12criminal sentence to register under the Sex Offender
13Registration Act; or (5) is convicted of any other crime or
14engages in any conduct that would be grounds for discipline
15under subsection (a) of Section 2105-165 of the Department of
16Professional Regulation Law of the Civil Administrative Code of
17Illinois.
18    (p) Each practical nurse licensed by a party state under
19the Nurse Licensure Compact under Article 80 of this Act who
20intends to provide direct patient care in this State shall be
21subject to the requirements of Section 50-35 of this Act and
22shall have his or her fingerprints submitted to the Department
23of State Police in accordance with the requirements of Section
2450-35. Fingerprints shall be submitted within 60 days prior to
25practice in this State."; and

3    "(n) A registered nurse licensed by a party state under the
4Nurse Licensure Compact under Article 80 of this Act is granted
5the privilege to practice registered nursing in this State. The
6employer of a registered nurse exercising the practice
7privilege afforded under this subsection (n) who provides
8direct patient care in Illinois shall file a report with the
9Department as determined by rule. The report shall be in a form
10and manner designated by the Department and shall include
