AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2925

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2925 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the following:

"Section 5. The State Officials and Employees Ethics Act is amended by adding Section 70-20 as follows:

(5 ILCS 430/70-20 new)

Sec. 70-20. Members appointed by a county.

(a) Any member of a governmental entity appointed by the president of the county board, with or without the advice and consent of the county board, shall abide by the ethics laws applicable to, and the ethics policies of, that county and, if applicable, shall be subject to the jurisdiction of that county's ethics officer or inspector general.

(b) This Section shall apply only to governmental entities that are located, in whole or in part, within a county with a population of 3,000,000 or more.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.".
