AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1809

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1809 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by
5changing Section 1-159.1 as follows:
 
6    (625 ILCS 5/1-159.1)  (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 1-159.1)
7    Sec. 1-159.1. Person with disabilities. A natural person
8who, as determined by a licensed physician, by a physician
9assistant who has been delegated the authority to make this
10determination by his or her supervising physician, or by an
11advanced practice nurse who has a written collaborative
12agreement with a collaborating physician that authorizes the
13advanced practice nurse to make this determination: (1) cannot
14walk without the use of, or assistance from, a brace, cane,
15crutch, another person, prosthetic device, wheelchair, or
16other assistive device; (2) is restricted by lung disease to

1such an extent that his or her forced (respiratory) expiratory
2volume for one second, when measured by spirometry, is less
3than one liter, or the arterial oxygen tension is less than 60
4mm/hg on room air at rest; (3) uses portable oxygen; (4) has a
5cardiac condition to the extent that the person's functional
6limitations are classified in severity as Class III or Class
7IV, according to standards set by the American Heart
8Association; (5) is severely limited in the person's ability to
9walk due to an arthritic, neurological, oncological, or
10orthopedic condition; (6) cannot walk 200 feet without stopping
11to rest because of one of the above 5 conditions; or (7) is
12missing a hand or arm or has permanently lost the use of a hand
13or arm.
