| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of
John H. Weitendorf Sr. of Joliet, who | 4 | | passed away on September 17, 2011; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, John Weitendorf Sr. was born in Frankfort; he was | 6 | | a lifelong resident of the Joliet area; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, John Weitendorf Sr. graduated from Joliet | 8 | | Township High School with the class of 1940; he then graduated | 9 | | from Joliet Junior College with the class of 1942; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, John Weitendorf Sr. was the former owner and | 11 | | broker of Town and Country Realtors, where he served his | 12 | | community for over 65 years; he was also a Past President of | 13 | | the Will County Association of Realtors; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, John Weitendorf Sr. was a member of the Board of | 15 | | Joliet Junior College Foundation; he was a 32nd Degree Mason | 16 | | with the Matteson Lodge #175, A.F. & A.M.; he established a | 17 | | scholarship fund at Joliet Junior College and supported | 18 | | multiple programs, including the Weitendorf Agricultural | 19 | | Center; he was instrumental in developing the Mary L. | 20 | | Weitendorf Family Center at the Morning Star Mission; he was a | 21 | | benefactor of the Mayo Clinic Alzheimers Unit in Jacksonville, |

| 1 | | Florida, and served as a volunteer for the American Red Cross | 2 | | Disaster Response Team; he was also a former Republican | 3 | | Precinct Committeeman, a former member of the Joliet Elks Lodge | 4 | | #296, and a founding member of St. Edward the Martyr Episcopal | 5 | | Church; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, John Weitendorf Sr. was preceded in death by his | 7 | | son, Thomas Weitendorf; his beloved wife, Mary L. (nee Corsini) | 8 | | Weitendorf; his parents; and his sister and brother; and | 9 | | WHEREAS, John Weitendorf Sr. is survived by his daughters, | 10 | | Susan Weitendorf, Holly (Dorey) Weitendorf, and Sally (Randy) | 11 | | Pickell; his son, John H. (Theresa) Weitendorf, Jr.; and his | 12 | | grandchildren, Eric and J.P. Pickell and John "Trey" H. | 13 | | Weitendorf III; therefore, be it
| 14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | 15 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 16 | | his family and friends, the passing of John H. Weitendorf Sr.; | 17 | | and be it further
