SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
20 ILCS 2705/2705-575  was 20 ILCS 2705/49.28

    Amends the Department of Transportation Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that whenever the Department of Transportation shall replace any used vehicle, it shall first notify and give the Department of Central Management Services the opportunity to receive the vehicles by inter-agency equipment transfer. Provides that if the vehicles are not acquired by the Department of Central Management Services, the Department of Natural Resources shall be given the opportunity to receive the vehicles by inter-agency equipment transfer. Provides that after these requirements have been met, units of local government shall be given the opportunity to purchase the vehicles. Effective January 1, 2012.

1    AN ACT concerning State government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Department of Transportation Law of the
5Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by changing
6Section 2705-575 as follows:
 
7    (20 ILCS 2705/2705-575)  (was 20 ILCS 2705/49.28)
8    Sec. 2705-575. Sale of used vehicles. Whenever the
9Department shall replace any used vehicle, it shall notify and
10give the Department of Central Management Services the
11opportunity to receive the vehicles by inter-agency equipment
12transfer units of local government in this State and the
13Department of Natural Resources the first opportunity to
14purchase the vehicle. If the vehicles are not acquired by the
15Department of Central Management Services the The Department
16shall be required to notify and give the Department of Natural
17Resources the opportunity to receive the vehicles by
18inter-agency equipment transfer. After these provisions have
19been met the Department shall notify only the Department of
20Natural Resources and those units of local government that have
21previously requested the notification and provide them the
22opportunity to purchase the vehicles. Any proceeds from the
23sale of the vehicles to units of local government shall be

1deposited in the Road Fund. The term "vehicle" as used in this
2Section is defined to include passenger automobiles, light duty
3trucks, heavy duty trucks, and other self-propelled motorized
4equipment (in excess of 25 horse-power) and attachments.

6    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect January
