AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3815

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3815 on page 4, by
3replacing lines 5 through 8 with "period of service; and (v)
4for all leaves of absence under this subsection (c), including
5those beginning before the effective date of this amendatory
6Act of the 97th General Assembly, the police officer continues
7to remain in sworn status, subject to the professional
8standards of the public employer or those terms established in
9statute."; and
 
10on page 12, by replacing lines 19 through 22 with "board, and
11(iv) for all leaves of absence under this subdivision (3),
12including those beginning before the effective date of this
13amendatory Act of the 97th General Assembly, the firefighter
14continues to remain in sworn status, subject to the
15professional standards of the public employer or those terms
16established in statute."; and

1on page 16, by replacing lines 9 through 13, with "police
2department, the Public Vehicle License Commission and the board
3of election commissioners of the city, provided that, in each
4of these cases and for all periods specified in this item (b),
5including those beginning before the effective date of this
6amendatory Act of the 97th General Assembly, the police officer
7is on leave to special duty assignments and continues to remain
8in sworn status, subject to the professional standards of the
9public employer or those terms established in statute."; and
 
10by replacing line 24 on page 18 through line 1 on page 19 with
11"during which he served as an officer president of The
12Firemen's Association of Chicago, but only if the fireman first
13becomes a member of the fund before the effective date of this
14amendatory Act of the 97th General Assembly (nothing in this
15amendatory Act of the 97th General Assembly shall apply to a
16fireman who first becomes a member of the fund after the
17effective date of this amendatory Act of the 97th General
18Assembly who is on leave to special duty assignments, and who
19continues to remain in sworn status, subject to the
20professional standards of the public employer or those terms
21established in statute), (g) periods of suspension".
