AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3275

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3275 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the following:

"Section 5. The State Finance Act is amended by adding Sections 5.786 and 6z-87 as follows:

(30 ILCS 105/5.786 new)

Sec. 5.786. The Veterans Traumatic Brain Injury and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Public Service Announcement Fund.

(30 ILCS 105/6z-87 new)

Sec. 6z-87. The Veterans Traumatic Brain Injury and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Public Service Announcement Fund; creation. The Veterans Traumatic Brain Injury and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Public Service Announcement Fund is created as a special fund in the State treasury. The Department of Veterans' Affairs may collect gifts, donations, and charitable contributions from any private individual or entity for the purpose of providing public service announcements to inform veterans of the services and benefits of State and federal laws, including but not limited to the services and benefits available to veterans suffering from traumatic brain injuries or post-traumatic stress disorder. The gifts, donations, and charitable contributions shall be deposited into the Veterans Traumatic Brain Injury and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Public Service Announcement Fund. All money in the Veterans Traumatic Brain Injury and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Public Service Announcement Fund shall be used, subject to appropriation by the General Assembly, by the Department of Veterans' Affairs for this purpose.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.".
