1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3090
2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3090 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:

4     "Section 5. The Illinois Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act is
5 amended by adding Section 3.24 as follows:

6     (410 ILCS 620/3.24 new)
7     Sec. 3.24. Pharmaceutical disposal. Notwithstanding any
8 provision of law, any city, village, or municipality may
9 authorize the use of its city hall or police department to
10 display a container suitable for use as a receptacle for used,
11 expired, or unwanted pharmaceuticals. These used, expired, or
12 unwanted pharmaceuticals may include prescription drugs. This
13 receptacle shall only permit the deposit of items, and the
14 contents shall be locked and secured. The container shall be
15 accessible to the public and shall have posted clearly legible
16 signage indicating that expired or unwanted prescription drugs
