AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2562

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2562 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Illinois Police Training Act is amended by
5changing Section 3 as follows:
 
6    (50 ILCS 705/3)  (from Ch. 85, par. 503)
7    Sec. 3. Board - composition - appointments - tenure -
8vacancies. The Board shall be composed of 20 19 members
9selected as follows: The Attorney General of the State of
10Illinois, the Director of State Police, the Director of
11Corrections, the Superintendent of the Chicago Police
12Department, the Sheriff of Cook County, the Director of the
13Illinois Police Training Institute, the Special Agent in Charge
14of the Springfield, Illinois, division of the Federal Bureau of
15Investigation, the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County,
16and the following to be appointed by the Governor: 2 mayors or

1village presidents of Illinois municipalities, 2 Illinois
2county sheriffs from counties other than Cook County, 2
3managers of Illinois municipalities, 2 3 chiefs of municipal
4police departments in Illinois having no Superintendent of the
5Police Department on the Board, and 2 citizens of Illinois who
6shall be members of an organized enforcement officers'
7association which has no other members on the Board other than
8the chief of a municipal police department, one active member
9of a statewide association representing sheriffs, and one
10active member of a statewide association representing
11municipal police chiefs the Special Agent of the Federal Bureau
12of Investigation, the Director of State Police, a county
13sheriff or deputy sheriff. The appointments of the Governor
14shall be made on the first Monday of August in 1965 with 3 of
15the appointments to be for a period of one year, 3 for 2 years,
16and 3 for 3 years. Their successors shall be appointed in like
17manner for terms to expire the first Monday of August each 3
18years thereafter. All members shall serve until their
19respective successors are appointed and qualify. Vacancies
20shall be filled by the Governor for the unexpired terms.

22    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
23becoming law.".
