AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2555

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2555 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the following:

"Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by adding Section 5-1133 as follows:

(55 ILCS 5/5-1133 new)

Sec. 5-1133. Administrative tow fees. A county with a population of more than 600,000 that has adopted a system of administrative adjudication may collect a reasonable administrative tow fee. The fee shall be deposited into the county's general fund for payment of costs incurred by the sheriff in towing a vehicle.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.".
