AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2105

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2105 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Community Mental Health Act is amended by
5changing Section 14 as follows:
 
6    (405 ILCS 20/14)
7    (Section scheduled to be repealed on December 31, 2018)
8    Sec. 14. Advisory committee.
9    (a) No later than December 31, 2011, the county board
10chairman in every county with a population of less than
113,000,000, or the township supervisor of a township located in
12a county with a population of 3,000,000 or more, shall appoint
13a volunteer 7 member mental health advisory committee composed
14of members of the general public, if no community mental health
15board has been established in the county or township as
16provided under Section 3a of this Act. This subsection shall

1not apply to townships that currently monitor and address
2mental health needs of township residents by providing or
3funding provide mental health services available to
4individuals and families, and that include the following:
5psychiatric evaluation, therapy, crisis assessment and
6intervention, and case management.
7    (b) The mental health advisory committee shall identify and
8assess current mental health services in its respective
9jurisdiction, monitor any expansion or contraction of such
10services, and, if deemed necessary, provide a report to the
11county or township board with recommendations for additional
12services.
13    (c) The mental health advisory committee shall have no
14taxing authority.
15    (d) This Section is repealed on December 31, 2018.

17    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
18becoming law.".
