AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1576

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1576 as follows:
 
3on page 17, line 3, by replacing "shall" with "may"; and
 
4on page 17, line 8, by replacing "shall" with "may"; and
 
5on page 17, line 13, by replacing "shall" with "may"; and
 
6on page 17, by replacing lines 18 through 24 with "certified
7Firefighter II, certified Firefighter III, State of Illinois or
8nationally licensed EMT-B or EMT-I, licensed paramedic, or any
9combination of those capacities may be awarded up to a maximum
10of 5 points. However, the applicant may not be awarded more
11than 0.5 points for each complete year of paid-on-call or
12part-time service."; and
 
13on page 18, by replacing lines 1 through 9 with "fire

13item (1) by adding to the final grade that they receive 5
14points for the recognized preference achieved. The commission
15shall determine the number of preference points for each
16category except (1). The number of preference points for each
17category shall range from 0 to 5. In determining the number of
18preference points, the commission shall prescribe that if a
19candidate earns the maximum number of preference points in all
20categories, that number may not be less than 10 nor more than

22appointment to persons designated in items (2) through (7) by
