AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1519

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1519 on page 1, by inserting immediately below line 3 the following:

"Section 3. The State Finance Act is amended by adding Sections 5.786 and 6z-87 as follows:

(30 ILCS 105/5.786 new)

Sec. 5.786. The Murder Victims Services Fund.

(30 ILCS 105/6z-87 new)

Sec. 6z-87. Murder Victims Services Fund. There is created within the State treasury the Murder Victims Services Fund. Moneys in the Fund shall be used to provide counseling and financial assistance to murder victims. The Attorney General, from appropriations made by the General Assembly to the Attorney General, shall allocate moneys to murder victims for such purposes."; and

on page 15, by inserting immediately below line 10 the following:

"(P.A. 96-1543, Sec. 15 rep.)

Section 20. "An Act concerning criminal law", approved March 9, 2011, Public Act 96-1543, is amended by repealing Section 15.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect January 1, 2012, except that this Section and Sections 3 and 20 take effect July 1, 2011.".
