AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 404

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 404 on page 7, immediately below line 1, by inserting the following:

"Section 25. The Department of Natural Resources (Mines and Minerals) Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by changing Section 1905-90 as follows:

Sec. 1905-90. State Mining Board. Any statute that by its terms is to be administered by the State Mining Board shall be administered by the Board without any direction, supervision, or control by the Director of Natural Resources or the Director of the Office of Mines and Minerals, except that which the Director of Natural Resources, or his or her designee, the Office may, pursuant to Section 2.08 of the Coal Mining Act, exercise by virtue of being a member of the Board and except as may be provided in that Act the statute.
