AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 148

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 148, AS AMENDED, with reference to page and line numbers of House Amendment No. 2, on page 3, line 11, by replacing "weapon" with "firearm"; and

on page 3, line 16, by replacing "weapon" with "handgun"; and

on page 6, line 9, by replacing "firearm" with "handgun"; and

on page 6, lines 20 and 21, by replacing "a mental defective, and" with "having a mental defect, or"; and

0n page 7, line 1, by replacing "use" with "abuse"; and

on page 15, line 17, by replacing "handgun" with "concealed firearm"; and

on page 17, line 17, by replacing "handgun" with "concealed firearm"; and

on page 17, line 21, by replacing "handgun" with "concealed firearm"; and

on page 17, line 24, by replacing "handgun" with "concealed firearm"; and

on page 18, line 15, by replacing "handgun" with "concealed firearm"; and

on page 18, line 17, by replacing "handgun" with "concealed firearm"; and

on page 18, line 20, by replacing "handgun" with "concealed firearm"; and

on page 18, by replacing line 23 with the following: "or ammunition out of plain sight in a locked vehicle or in a locked compartment or"; and

by replacing lines 25 and 26 on page on page 18 and lines 1 and 2 on page 19 with the following: "violation of this Section while he or she is traveling along a public right of way that touches or crosses any of the premises specified in subsection (a) or designated under subsection (b) or (c) if the handgun is carried on his or her person in accordance with the provisions of this Act or is being transported in a vehicle by the licensee in accordance with all other applicable provisions of law. A licensee shall not be in"; and

on page 19, line 16, by replacing "weapon" with "firearm"; and

on page 21, by replacing line 12 with "licensees."; and

on page 21, line 16, by deleting "to carry a handgun"; and

on page 22, lines 4 and 5, by replacing "handgun carry license" with "license to carry a concealed firearm"; and

on page 26, by replacing line 20 with the following: "receive a license under this Act."; and

on page 27, line 24, by deleting "handgun carry"; and

on page 28, by replacing lines 8 and 9 with the following:

"(A) the requirements for obtaining a license under this Act;"; and

on page 31, line 1, by replacing "handguns" with "a concealed firearm"; and

Section 999. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.".
