SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Richard E. Carlini of Barrington, who passed away on September 9, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Richard Carlini was born on February 9, 1932 in Cicero; he lived in Cicero until 1960, when he moved to Des Plaines; he then moved to Palatine in 1979, living there until he moved to Barrington in 1998; and

WHEREAS, Richard Carlini graduated from Morton High School in 1950; he earned his bachelor's degree in education from Northwestern University in 1956 and his master's degree in education in 1962 from Northern Illinois University; and

WHEREAS, Richard Carlini served his country with pride and distinction as an engineman in the United States Navy from 1952 until 1955; and

WHEREAS, Richard Carlini retired in 1986 after 34 years at Maine West High School, where he taught physical education and served as athletic director for 8 years; and

WHEREAS, Richard Carlini was a member of the Cross & Crown Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights; he enjoyed woodworking, crafts, art, and sailing; and

WHEREAS, Richard Carlini was preceded in death by his parents, Constantino and Susan (nee Gianeschi) Carlini; his brothers, Nello, Harvey, Robert, and Norman Carlini; and his sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Helen Carlini; and

WHEREAS, Richard Carlini is survived by his wife, Heide (nee Brose); his sons, Richard (Paula) and Perry (Jenny); his stepson, Todd Ryland (Donna) Kemp; and his grandchildren, Diana and Eva Carlini, and Anthony, Vincent, and Sophia Carlini; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Richard E. Carlini; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Richard Carlini as an expression of our sympathy.
