HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Eva Wojkowski of St. Helen School in West Town, Chicago on being named a finalist for the 2009 Kohl McCormick Early Childhood Teaching Awards; and

WHEREAS, Nineteen of Chicago's finest educators, working with children between birth and the age of eight have been selected; these finalists exemplify the best practices of quality early childhood teaching: dedication, innovation, leadership, respect for children and their families, and commitment to professional growth; and

WHEREAS, The finalists work in preschools, home day care centers, childcare centers, Head Start programs, Preschool For All, public schools, private schools, and parochial schools in Cook and DuPage Counties; and

WHEREAS, Five of these finalists will be chosen to represent their field; they will be announced in April and will receive their honors in June; and

WHEREAS, The Kohl McCormick Early Childhood Teaching Awards program is sponsored by the McCormick Foundation and the Dolores Kohl Education Foundation; and

WHEREAS, Eva Wojkowski teaches in a National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale Accredited education program at St. Helen School in West Town, Chicago; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Eva Wojkowski and wish her the best in her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Eva Wojkowski as a symbol of our respect and admiration.
