AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 6379

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 6379 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the following:

"Section 5. The Metropolitan Transit Authority Act is amended by adding Section 54 as follows:

(70 ILCS 3605/54 new)

Sec. 54. Community art to decorate viaducts. Beginning in fiscal year 2011, the Board must use 2% of its capital budget to create and implement programs to decorate rail viaducts with community art projects including the provision of adequate lighting to ensure the safety and visibility of the art projects.

Section 10. The Regional Transportation Authority Act is amended by adding Sections 3A.18 and 3B.17 as follows:

Sec. 3A.18. Community art to decorate viaducts. Beginning in fiscal year 2011, the Suburban Bus Board must use 2% of its capital budget to create and implement programs to decorate rail viaducts with community art projects including the provision of adequate lighting to ensure the safety and visibility of the art projects.

(70 ILCS 3615/3B.17 new)

Sec. 3B.17. Community art to decorate viaducts. Beginning in fiscal year 2011, the Commuter Rail Board must use 2% of its capital budget to create and implement programs to decorate rail viaducts with community art projects including the provision of adequate lighting to ensure the safety and visibility of the art projects.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.".
