105 ILCS 5/34-18.37 new

Amends the School Code and the Child Care Act of 1969. Provides that each school board shall require that all schools annually test for the presence of radon. Requires a licensed day care center to annually test for the presence of radon.

AN ACT concerning radon.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Sections 10-20.46 and 34-18.37 as follows:

(105 ILCS 5/10-20.46 new)

Sec. 10-20.46. Radon testing required. Each school board shall require that all schools annually test for the presence of radon.

(105 ILCS 5/34-18.37 new)

Sec. 34-18.37. Radon testing required. The board shall require that all schools annually test for the presence of radon.

Section 10. The Child Care Act of 1969 is amended by adding Section 5.7 as follows:

(225 ILCS 10/5.7 new)

Sec. 5.7. Radon testing required. A licensed day care center shall annually test for the presence of radon.
