AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2257

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2257 as follows:

on page 2, line 21 by replacing "Department" with "Sheriff's office of the county in which the applicant resides"; and

on page 3, line 15, immediately after the period, by adding the following: "The applicant must submit his or her application to the sheriff's office of the county in which he or she resides and must be fingerprinted at that time. A fee of not more than $25 may be collected from the sheriff's department for the fingerprinting. The sheriff's office will then submit the application, fingerprints, and licensing fee to the Department within 48 hours of receipt. If the applicant is subject to an investigation or pending criminal charges that would cause the applicant, if convicted, to be ineligible for licensing, then the county sheriff may include this information with the application."; and

on page 3, line 19, immediately after the period, by adding the following: "If the applicant is subject to an investigation or pending criminal charges that would cause the applicant, if convicted, to be ineligible for licensing, then the Department may delay licensing until such investigation or charges are resolved."; and

on page 3, line 26, immediately after the period, by adding the following: "The applicant shall submit the renewal application to the sheriff's office of the county in which the applicant resides."; and

on page 4, line 2, after "training", by adding the following: "and fingerprinting"; and

on page 4, line 10 by replacing "permits" with "licenses"; and

on page 7, line 5 by replacing "permit" with "license"; and

on page 7, like 9 by replacing "permit" with "license"; and

on page 7, line 11 by replacing "permit" with "license"; and

on page 7, line 13 by replacing "permit" with "license"; and

on page 7, line 14 by replacing "permit" with "license"; and

on page 7, line 17 by replacing "permit" with "license"; and

on page 7, line 24 by replacing "Other facilities" with "Private establishments"; and

on page 8, line 1 by replacing "facility" with "establishment"; and

on page 11, line 3, after "denial,", by adding the following: "delay,"; and

by deleting line 14 on page 16 through line 9 on page 17; and
