AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2348

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2348 on page 6, after line 19, by inserting the following:

"Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a medical or health care provider under the medical assistance program may elect, in lieu of receiving direct payment for goods or services provided under that program, to participate in the Illinois State Employees Deferred Compensation Plan adopted under Article 24 of the Illinois Pension Code. A medical or health care provider who elects to participate in that Plan shall, for purposes of that participation, be deemed an "employee" as defined in Section 24-102 of the Illinois Pension Code.".
