AMENDMENT TO HOUSE RESOLUTION 840

AMENDMENT NO. ___. Amend House Resolution 840 by replacing everything after the heading with the following:

"WHEREAS, The United States Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration (VHA) provides a broad spectrum of medical, prescription, surgical, and rehabilitative care for US veterans; and

WHEREAS, The VHA's responsibilities also include the administration and operation of numerous outpatient clinics, hospitals, medical centers, and long-term care facilities for veterans; and

WHEREAS, Veterans who have served our country are entitled to expect and receive consistently high-quality health care; and

WHEREAS, The health care provided to our veterans is in fact inadequate; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we urge Congress and the United States government to ensure that adequate health care is mandatory for all veterans; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be sent to each member of the Illinois Congressional delegation and to the United States Secretary of Veterans Affairs.".
