1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 5343
2 AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 5343, AS AMENDED,
3 with reference to page and line numbers of House Amendment No.
4 1, by replacing line 16 on page 1 and lines 1 through 4 on page
5 2 with the following:
6 "offer alternatives, when appropriate, to avoid commitment to
7 the Department of Juvenile Justice, to direct child welfare
8 services for minors charged with a criminal offense or
9 adjudicated delinquent under Section 5 of the Children and
10 Family Services Act. The"; and

11 on page 2, line 13, by replacing "incarceration" with
12 "commitment to the Department of Juvenile Justice"; and

13 on page 9, line 24, after "Secretary", by inserting "of Human
14 Services"; and

15 on page 12, after line 12, by inserting the following:

1 "(i) Implementation of this Section is subject to
2 appropriation.".
