AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 164

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 164, AS AMENDED, with reference to page and line numbers of House Amendment No. 1, on page 3, line 22, after "500,000,", by inserting "beginning August 15, 2006,"; and

on page 2, line 25, after the period, by inserting the following: "With respect to teachers employed prior to August 15, 2006 by a charter school that is operating in a city having a population exceeding 500,000, residency within the city must not be considered in determining a teacher's employment or compensation or whether to retain, promote, assign, or transfer a teacher."; and

on page 4, line 9, by replacing "2005" with "2006".
