AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 3013

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3013 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4     "Section 5. The Public Water District Act is amended by
5 adding Section 7.3 as follows:
 
6     (70 ILCS 3705/7.3 new)
7     Sec. 7.3. Boil order, temporary shutoff, or Tier 1
8 notification; notification of certified local health
9 department required. If a public water district issues a boil
10 order, temporary water shut-off for commercial users, or other
11 Tier 1 notification concerning the potability or safety of
12 water, the district must give written notification to any
13 certified local health department that serves an area subject
14 to the order or warning as soon as is practical, but no later
15 than 2 hours after the district learns of the violation or
16 situation. The notification must include the estimated
17 duration of the order or warning and the geographic area
18 covered by the order or warning.
 
19     Section 10. The Water Service District Act is amended by
20 adding Section 5.2 as follows:
 
21     (70 ILCS 3710/5.2 new)
22     Sec. 5.2. Boil order, temporary shutoff, or Tier 1

2 department required. If a water service district issues a boil
3 order, temporary water shut-off for commercial users, or other
4 Tier 1 notification concerning the potability or safety of

12     Section 15. The Water Authorities Act is amended by adding
13 Section 6c as follows:
 
14     (70 ILCS 3715/6c new)
15     Sec. 6c. Boil order, temporary shut-off, or Tier 1
16 notification; notification of certified local health
17 department required. If a water authority issues a boil order,
18 temporary water shut-off for commercial users, or other Tier 1
19 notification concerning the potability or safety of water, the
20 authority must give written notification to any certified local
21 health department that serves an area subject to the order or
22 warning as soon as is practical, but no later than 2 hours
23 after the authority learns of the violation or situation. The
24 notification must include the estimated duration of the order
25 or warning and the geographic area covered by the order or
26 warning.
 
27     Section 20. The Water Commission Act of 1985 is amended by
28 adding Section 2.5 as follows:
 
29     (70 ILCS 3720/2.5 new)
30     Sec. 2.5. Boil order, temporary shut-off, or Tier 1

3 temporary water shut-off for commercial users, or other Tier 1
4 notification concerning the potability or safety of water, the

8 hours after the commission learns of the violation or
9 situation. The notification must include the estimated
10 duration of the order or warning and the geographic area
11 covered by the order or warning.
 
12     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
13 becoming law.".
