 1                    AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 386

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend Senate Bill 386,  AS  AMENDED,
 3    with  reference  to  page and line numbers of House Amendment
 4    No. 1, on page 10, by replacing lines 12 through 15 with  the
 5    following:
 6        "(8)  An  owner  of  an  animal, or an agent of the owner
 7    acting with the owner's approval, in caring for, training, or
 8    treating an animal belonging to the owner, so  long  as  that
 9    individual  or agent does not represent himself or herself as
10    a veterinarian or use any title associated with the  practice
11    of  veterinary  medicine  or  surgery  or diagnose, prescribe
12    drugs, or perform surgery.  The agent shall provide the owner
13    with a  written  statement  summarizing  the  nature  of  the
14    services provided and obtain a signed acknowledgment from the
15    owner  that  they accept the services provided.  The services
16    shall comply with  the  Humane  Care  for  Animals  Act.  The
17    provisions  of  this item (8) do not apply to a person who is
18    exempt under item (7)."; and

19    on page 11, immediately  below  line  17,  by  inserting  the
20    following:
21        "(15)  An  individual providing equine dentistry services
22    requested by a veterinarian  licensed  to  practice  in  this
23    State,  an  owner,  or an owner's agent.  For the purposes of

 1    this item (15), "equine dentistry  services"  means  floating
 2    teeth without the use of drugs or extraction."; and

 3    on page 11, line 18, by replacing "(15)" with "(16)".
