 1                    AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3695

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend House Bill 3695 on page 1,  by
 3    replacing line 17 with the following:
 4    "settings and are able to do so."; and

 5    on page 1, by replacing lines 22 and 23 with the following:
 6    "mental  illness and substance abuse, who currently reside in
 7    nursing facilities, who choose to move, and who are  able  to
 8    do so, to move within the next 5 years to the"; and

 9    on  page  2,  by  replacing  lines  20  through  23  with the
10    following:
11        "Qualified individual" means an adult who is 19 years  of
12    age  or  older  and  under  65  years  of  age  who agrees to
13    participate in the MI Olmstead Initiative, is assessed by  an
14    appropriate  professional  and  found to be able to move to a
15    less restrictive setting, and  meets  one  of  the  following
16    criteria:"; and

17    on page 5, by replacing lines 15 and 16 with the following:
18    "of  the  Initiative,  a review of the State's use of nursing
19    facilities, including IMD's, for the  care  of  persons  with
20    severe mental illness, and a plan for adjusting State policy,
21    including the further consolidation or conversion of IMD".
