 1                    AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2659

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend House Bill  2659  by  deleting
 3    everything  after  the  enacting clause and inserting in lieu
 4    thereof the following:

 5                             "ARTICLE 1

 6        Section 5.  The General Obligation Bond Act is amended by
 7    changing Section 6 as follows:

 8        (30 ILCS 330/6) (from Ch. 127, par. 656)
 9        Sec. 6.  Anti-Pollution.
10        (a)  The   amount   of   $319,815,000   $300,815,000   is
11    authorized for allocation  by  the  Environmental  Protection
12    Agency  for  grants  or loans to units of local government in
13    such amounts, at such times  and  for  such  purpose  as  the
14    Agency   deems  necessary  or  desirable  for  the  planning,
15    financing, and construction  of  municipal  sewage  treatment
16    works  and  solid waste disposal facilities and for making of
17    deposits  into  the  Water  Revolving  Fund  and   the   U.S.
18    Environmental   Protection  Fund  to  provide  assistance  in
19    accordance  with  the  provisions  of  Title  IV-A   of   the
20    Environmental Protection Act.
21        (b)  The   amount   of  $160,500,000  is  authorized  for

 1    allocation by the Environmental Protection Agency for payment
 2    of claims submitted to the State  and  approved  for  payment
 3    under   the   Leaking   Underground   Storage   Tank  Program
 4    established in Title XVI of the Environmental Protection Act.

 7        Section  99.   This  Act  takes  effect  immediately upon
 8    becoming law.".
