 1                    AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1272

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend House Bill 1272 on page 4,  by
 3    replacing lines 2 through 10 with the following:
 4        "(b-5)  A  facility may at any time submit information to
 5    the Department of Public Aid  to  supplement  the  facility's
 6    most  recent  cost report to document its increased allowable
 7    costs  of   providing   services   resulting   from   capital
 8    improvements   made  by  the  facility  that  have  not  been
 9    considered in the payment rates in effect for  that  facility
10    for  the current fiscal year. The Department must verify this
11    supplemental information promptly after receiving it from the
12    facility. The Department must adjust the  facility's  payment
13    rates  promptly  after  verifying  the  facility's  increased
14    allowable capital costs of providing services. Implementation
15    of  this  subsection  is  subject  to  appropriations  to the
16    Department for that purpose.".
