1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1196
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 1196 on page 2,
3 line 7, before the comma, by inserting "and grandparents or
4 other older individuals who are relative caregivers"; and
5 on page 2, line 9, by changing "frail" to "older"; and
6 on page 2, lines 13 and 15, by replacing "frail individuals"
7 with "older individuals and children" each time it appears;
8 and
9 on page 2, lines 21 and 23, by replacing "the frail
10 individual" with "older individuals and children" each time
11 it appears; and
12 on page 2, line 24, by replacing "a frail individual" with
13 "older individuals"; and
14 on page 2, after line 30, by inserting the following:
15 ""Caregiver" or "family caregiver" means an adult family
16 member, or another individual, who is an informal provider of
17 in-home and community care to an older individual, or a
18 grandparent or older individual who is a relative
19 caregiver."; and
20 on page 3, by deleting lines 4 through 6; and

1 on page 3, lines 17 and 18, by replacing "provided to a frail
2 individual that will" with "to"; and
3 on page 4, lines 1 and 2, by deleting "who is 60 years of age
4 or older and"; and
5 on page 4, line 4, by changing "caregiver" to "primary
6 caregiver"; and
7 on page 4, line 14, before the period, by inserting ", except
8 for a grandparent or older individual who is a relative
9 caregiver"; and
10 on page 4, by replacing lines 26 and 27 with the following:
11 "Demonstration Project. The Department is"; and
12 on page 4, line 32, before the period, by inserting "and the
13 Department of Human Services"; and
14 on page 5, line 20, before the period, by inserting the
15 following:
16 ", except for the provision of services to grandparents or
17 older individuals who are relative caregivers when State
18 funding is utilized to provide those services"; and
19 on page 5, after line 20, by inserting the following:
20 "Section 30. Eligibility for respite and supplemental
21 services. When a family caregiver is providing in-home and
22 community care to an older individual, the older individual
23 must be a frail individual as defined in this Act in order
24 for the family caregiver to be eligible to receive respite
25 and supplemental services.".
