 1                     AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 361

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend House Bill 361 on page 14,  by
 3    replacing lines 22 through 26 with the following:
 4        "(c)  The  Illinois  Department  of  Transportation shall
 5    provide a standardized law enforcement data compilation  form
 6    on its website.
 7        (d)  Every  law  enforcement  agency shall, by March 1 in
 8    each of the years 2004, 2005, 2006,  and  2007,  compile  the
 9    data described in subsections (a) and (b) on the standardized
10    law   enforcement  data  compilation  form  provided  by  the
11    Illinois Department of Transportation and transmit  the  data
12    to the Department.
13        (e)  The  Illinois  Department  of Transportation shall";
14    and

15    on page 14, line 30, by replacing "March 1"  with  "July  1";
16    and

17    on page 15, line 22, by replacing "(e)" with "(f)"; and

18    on  page  16,  by  replacing  lines  1  through  4  with  the
19    following:
20        "(g)  Funding  to  implement this Section shall come from
21    federal  highway  safety  funds  available  to  Illinois,  as
22    directed by the Governor.

 1        (h)  The  Illinois  Department  of   Transportation,   in
 2    consultation  with  law  enforcement agencies, officials, and
 3    organizations,  including  Illinois  chiefs  of  police,  the
 4    Department   of   State   Police,   the   Illinois   Sheriffs
 5    Association, and the Chicago Police Department, and community
 6    groups  and  other  experts,  shall  undertake  a  study   to
 7    determine the best use of technology to collect, compile, and
 8    analyze  the  traffic stop statistical study data required by
 9    this Section. The Department shall report  its  findings  and
10    recommendations  to  the Governor and the General Assembly by
11    March 1, 2004.".
