 1                     AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 343

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend House Bill 343 on page 3, line
 3    6, after the period, by inserting "A  patient  may,  however,
 4    authorize  the disclosure of information necessary for his or
 5    her participation in a program or  research  sponsored  by  a
 6    pharmaceutical company or research sanctioned by the FDA.  In
 7    addition,  information  concerning  the  nature or details of
 8    services provided  to  patients  may  be  disclosed  for  the
 9    compilation  of  Medicaid  records  used for epidemiological,
10    pharmacoeconomic, or  health  outcome  studies  that  do  not
11    reveal the identity of the patient.".
