HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to recognize Gwendolyn Westlund's First Annual Recycled Life Community Blood Drive and Organ Donor Education Event in Westmont; and

WHEREAS, The event, held on March 28, 2015 at Westmont High School, raised awareness about the many lives that can be saved with blood and organ donations; and

WHEREAS, The event was co-sponsored by the Westmont High School Students Against Destructive Decisions and Westmont First Committee, with participation from the Westmont Lions and Rotary Clubs, the Society of State Life Goes on Program, the Westmont Police Department, the Westmont Chamber of Commerce, and officials from the Village of Westmont; and

WHEREAS, The event provided education on blood, bone marrow, and organ donations and provided resources for those who wished to follow up on such donations or join the organ donor registry; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize Gwendolyn Westlund's First Annual Recycled Life Community Blood Drive and Organ Donor Education Event and the commitment of the organizers to spread the word on the increased need for blood and organ donations; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Gwendolyn Westlund, the Westmont High School Students Against Destructive Decisions, and the Westmont Lions and Rotary Clubs as an expression of our esteem and respect.
