SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Elizabeth J. Ritt of Crystal Lake, who passed away on November 19, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Elizabeth Ritt was born on February 19, 1929 in Highland Park; her parents were Norman and Ethel Ring; and

WHEREAS, Elizabeth Ritt spent her early years in the Antioch and Lake Villa areas and graduated from Antioch High School in 1947; and

WHEREAS, After marrying and moving to Crystal Lake, Elizabeth Ritt worked in the offices of Drs. Hillstrom, Bryant, and Wall, as well as Dr. Paul Wilson; she also worked as an admissions coordinator at McHenry County College for many years until 1984; and

WHEREAS, Elizabeth Ritt was a creative woman who always had several projects going at one time; she loved cooking, baking, sewing, needlework, and gardening; she also designed and made many banners for Immanuel Lutheran Church; and

WHEREAS, Elizabeth Ritt was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Lester Ring; and

WHEREAS, Elizabeth Ritt is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Ritt (Andy Snarski) and Barbara (Mark) Balasi; her AFS-USA daughter, Ana Maria (Oscar) Pereira; her grandchildren, Geoff Balasi, Maria Balasi, Alexandre Pereira, Ana Paula Pereira, Nicole Snarski, and Alex Snarski; her sisters, Laura Barden, Arvis (George) Nelson, and Aleeta Osmond; her brothers, Edward Ring and Wallace (Vicki) Ring; her ex-husband, Vernon Ritt; her 30 loving nieces and nephews; and many others who refer to her as their "other mother"; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Elizabeth J. Ritt; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Elizabeth Ritt as an expression of our sympathy.
