SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Edwin C. Stoyanoff of Waukegan, who passed away on January 14, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Edwin Stoyanoff was born on April 3, 1927, in Waukegan to Christ and Stella (nee Czija) Stoyanoff; he married Joan Zoph; and

WHEREAS, Edwin Stoyanoff worked for, and retired from, Outboard Marine Corporation after 43 years in Marine Engineering; he was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Navy SeaBees; and

WHEREAS, Edwin Stoyanoff was a 3rd degree member of Council 731 of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Waukegan Citizens Police Academy, and former member of the Waukegan Elks Lodge; he was a member of St. Anastasia Parish, the Holy Name Society, and was a founder of St. Anastasia Bingo; and

WHEREAS, Edwin Stoyanoff was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Rose Traynoff; and

WHEREAS, Edwin Stoyanoff is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joan; his children, Christopher (Linda) Stoyanoff, Clarice (Robert) Chesney, Marc (Louise) Stoyanoff, and Michael (Pamela) Stoyanoff; his grandchildren, Richard and Ryan Chesney, Katie, Stephanie, Stephen, Jaclyn, Julie, and Jennifer Stoyanoff; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Edwin Stoyanoff, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Edwin Stoyanoff as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
