SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Francis Terry Busch of Hudson, who passed away on November 3, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Francis Busch was born on January 17, 1934 in Blue Island; his parents were Francis and Agnes Lenzi Busch; he married Barbara Ott on August 29, 1953 in LaGrange; and

WHEREAS, Francis Busch graduated from Lyons Township High School in LaGrange; he subsequently attended the University of Illinois, earning a Bachelor of Science in vocational agriculture in 1956; and

WHEREAS, Francis Busch taught vocational agriculture at Lexington High School from 1956 until 1961, when he began a new career as a territory sales manager with Cargill Seeds; he remained in sales as a top salesman for 35 years; he also worked as a special markets manager with Cargill until his retirement in 1993; and

WHEREAS, Francis Busch was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lexington; he also served on the school board, assisted with the formation of the Jaycees, helped to bring the Patton Cabin to Lexington Park, and served on the Lexington Volunteer Fire Department for many years; and

WHEREAS, Francis Busch enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling with his wife, and spending time with his grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Francis Busch was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Francis Busch is survived by his wife, Barbara; his sons, William (Millie), Patrick (Michelle), David (Connie), and James (Laurie); his grandchildren, Michael, John, Catherine, and Caroline; and his step-grandchildren, Mark, Alissa, and Brian; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Francis Terry Busch; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Francis Busch as an expression of our sympathy.
