SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Leo E. Bernhard of Elwood, who passed
4away on November 22, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Leo Bernhard lived his entire life in Elwood; he
6attended Joliet Catholic Academy and graduated with the Class
7of 1943; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Leo Bernhard was a respected and admired farmer
9who enjoyed putting in a hard day's work with his sons; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Leo Bernhard was a long-time member of St. Joseph
11Parish in Manhattan; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Leo Bernhard was preceded in death by his parents,
13Leo C. and Agnes (nee Larkin) Bernhard, and a son-in-law, Mike
14Cabay; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Leo Bernhard is survived by his devoted wife of 64
16years, Lois (nee Miller); 12 children, Linda (John) Findlay,
17Dr. Mark (Joanne) Bernhard, Greg (Colleen) Bernhard, Bill
18(Mary) Bernhard, Gary (Lisa) Bernhard, Guy (Lynette) Bernhard,
19Joan (Brian) Long, Joy (Ray) Garza, Jean (Adam) Smith, Brian
20(Tammy) Bernhard, Doug (Kathy) Bernhard, and Carl (Joanne)

1Bernhard; a brother, Don (Phyllis) Bernhard; a sister, Mary
2Agnes (Don) McLaughlin; 57 grandchildren; and 13
3great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
6family and friends, mourn the passing of Leo E. Bernhard; and
7be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Leo Bernhard as an expression of our
10sympathy.
