SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Mary Anne Heidkamp (nee Dunsheath) of
4Milwaukee, Wisconsin, formerly of Oak Park, who passed away on
5May 15, 2014; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Mary Heidkamp was born in Chicago on September 23,
71923 to Leroy and Louise Dunsheath; she earned her bachelor's
8degree in sociology from DePaul University in 1945 and married
9Herbert Heidkamp on June 29, 1946; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Mary Heidkamp was a stay-at-home mom for many
11years when the family lived on the north side during the 1950s;
12due to her husband's job, the family moved to New Jersey in
131960 and then to Johannesburg, South Africa from 1963 to 1968;
14while in South Africa, they enjoyed many camping trips while
15exploring the country, getting close-up experiences with
16numerous wild animals; in 1968, they returned to the United
17States, settling in Boston; in 1981, they moved back to the
18north side of Chicago; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Mary Heidkamp was active in her parish and
20neighborhood association; she was an avid reader and a Chicago
21Bulls fan, and she loved the attending family reunions held in
22various parts of the country; and

1    WHEREAS, Mary Heidkamp and her husband had 12 children,
2Martha, Mary, Michael, Ann, Andrew, Larry, Tony, Joanne,
3Rosemary, Peter, Rita, and Thomas; 29 grandchildren; and 6
4great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Mary Anne Heidkamp, and extend our sincere condolences to her
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Mary Heidkamp as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
