SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James E. Martinez, who passed away on May
48, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James Martinez was born on July 7, 1935 and was a
6life-long resident of Waukegan and Gurnee; he graduated from
7Waukegan High School in 1953 and played semi-pro basketball for
8Posner's; and
 
9    WHEREAS, James Martinez began his moving career at
10Mordhorst Moving, retiring from Lake County Movers; and
 
11    WHEREAS, James Martinez enjoyed playing 16" softball for
12many years and was known as "The Legend"; he also enjoyed
13playing cribbage; and
 
14    WHEREAS, James Martinez was preceded in death by his
15parents, Cinto and Mildred (nee Mordhorst) Martinez, and by his
16in-laws, Anton and Marie Nagode; and
 
17    WHEREAS, James Martinez is survived by his wife, Dianne
18(nee Nagode); 4 children, Traci (Anthony Scarlata) Martinez,
19Michael (Brook) Martinez, Jeanne (Dr. John Segreti) Martinez,
20and Sandra Martinez; granddaughter, Stephanie Martinez;

1nieces, Wendi Potter-Kelly, and Gina (Chad) Morin; and other
2nieces, nephews, and friends; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5James E. Martinez, and extend our sincere condolences to his
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of James Martinez as an expression of
10our deepest sympathy.
