SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Raymond G. Card of Waukegan, who passed away on March 24, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Card was born in Chicago on October 20, 1938 to Jesse and Lillian (nee Schultz) Card; he grew up on a farm in Lake County and graduated from Grayslake High School in 1957; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Card worked for Reed-Randle Ford and the Waukegan Regional Airport; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Card was a member of the Lake County Republican Federation's Board of Governors, and in 2013, he received their Lifetime Achievement award recognizing all he had done for the Republican Party; he was also the Republican Party's Waukegan Township Chairman and a precinct committeeman; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Card was preceded in death by his parents, and by his 8 brothers and sisters; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Card is survived by his children, Greg (Lisa) Card, Meg (David) Frey, Jeff Card, Nickie (Darrell) Oliver, Neller (Leonides) Polanco, and Chris (Michelle) Card; his grandchildren, Harrison, Trevor, Louis, Julia, Ben, Nate, Maggie, Marnie (Deryk), Mallory (Chaz), Donny, Austin, and Amber; his great-grandchildren, Jamie, John, Michael, and Adin; and his numerous nephews and nieces; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Raymond G. Card, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Raymond Card as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
