HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The Auditor General audits State agencies on a regular basis, publishes the audit findings, and makes these findings available on the Auditor General's website; and

WHEREAS, Each agency is required to submit the most recent audit in its budget submissions to each caucus' appropriations staff; and

WHEREAS, The "budgeting for results" process was established to set standards and goals for agencies to achieve; and

WHEREAS, Audit findings are an indicator as to how an agency is performing, as well as if the agency is properly utilizing the appropriations granted by the General Assembly; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we urge all of the appropriation committees of the Illinois House of Representatives to take audit findings into consideration during the budgeting process; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be delivered to the chairpersons and spokespersons of each of the House appropriations committees.
