HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Ruchell Hill of Ripley, Mississippi, who passed away on May 4, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Ruchell Hill was born on December 1, 1943, in Myrtle, Mississippi, to Wilbo and Junie Bell Booth; she married Luther Hill; and

WHEREAS, Ruchell Hill was baptized at Beulah Hill Baptist Church; she later joined Antioch Baptist Church in Blue Mountain, Mississippi, where she served on the Hospitality Team for many years; and

WHEREAS, Ruchell Hill was a homemaker and loved cooking and taking care of others; and

WHEREAS, Ruchell Hill was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 37 years, Luther; her brother, James Booth; and her stepsons, Luther M. Hill, Thomas L. Hill, and Robert J. Hill; and

WHEREAS, Ruchell Hill is survived by her twin brother, Rudolph (Yvonne) Booth; her stepson, Arthur F. (Lorene) Hill; her stepdaughter, Dorothy (Rev. Lonnie) Sanders; her stepdaughter-in-law, Eunice Hill; and a host of great-grandchildren, great-grandnieces and nephews, her niece, and cousins that loved her and will miss her dearly; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Ruchell Hill, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ruchell Hill as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
