HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The mission of the Polish American Foundation is to "Promote Poland in America, and America in Poland" by working to bring cooperation between representatives of governments in Poland and in the United States; and

WHEREAS, The Polish American Foundation is strongly engaged in the promotion of Poland as an attractive tourist destination by highlighting its culture, and by strengthening the image of Poland as a modern country, with a strong and distinctive national identity built on the foundation of a rich heritage; and

WHEREAS, The Polish American Foundation's program "A Bond Between Cultures" supports economic development to increase United States investment in Poland, aiding local entrepreneurship in the development of communities in Poland; and

WHEREAS, "A Bond Between Cultures" creates opportunities for Polish entrepreneurs, institutions, and universities to connect with their United States colleagues, and vice versa; and

WHEREAS, "A Bond Between Cultures" works on strengthening the role and importance of Poland by promoting Polish and Polish-American achievements in the economic, scientific, and cultural communities of the United States; and

WHEREAS, "A Bond Between Cultures" works towards the greater social engagement of Americans living in Poland, as well as the Polish living in the United States; and

WHEREAS, "A Bond Between Cultures" has been dedicated to strengthening the integration between Polish Americans and Poland in order to develop contacts and cooperation between these communities; and

WHEREAS, "A Bond Between Cultures" has helped improve access to and the proper use of the American system of justice by Polish citizens residing in the United States; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Polish American Foundation and its program "A Bond Between Cultures" on bridging the gap between Poland and the Polish American communities within the United States; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Polish American Foundation as an expression of our esteem and respect.
