1 HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, During the 98th General Assembly, the Truancy in
3 Chicago Public Schools Task Force was established pursuant to
4 House Joint Resolution 1 to examine issues and make
5 recommendations related to current State Board of Education and
6 City of Chicago School District 299 policies regarding truancy
7 and excessive absences; and

8     WHEREAS, Further work is needed on these issues; therefore,
9 be it

10     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
11 NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE
12 SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that the Truancy in Chicago Public
13 Schools Task Force is extended; and be it further

14     RESOLVED, That the Truancy in Chicago Public Schools Task
15 Force shall submit a report, as established in its authorizing
16 resolution, on or before July 31, 2014; and be it further

17     RESOLVED, That with this reporting extension, the Truancy
18 in Chicago Public Schools Task Force shall continue to operate
19 pursuant to its enabling resolution.
