SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

705 ILCS 505/25.1 new

Amends the Court of Claims Act. Provides that if an award is made based on a claim for a wrongful discharge or termination of employment to a claimant who is a State employee, the award shall include back pay from the date of the employee's termination through the date of reinstatement.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Court of Claims Act is amended by adding Section 25.1 as follows:

(705 ILCS 505/25.1 new)

Sec. 25.1. Wrongful termination; back pay. If an award is made based on a claim for a wrongful discharge or termination of employment to a claimant who is a State employee, the award shall include back pay from the date of the employee's termination through the date of reinstatement.
