SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Matthew "Matt" D. Moyes of Peru, formerly of Rock Island, who passed away on September 20, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Matt Moyes was born to John W. and Phyllis (McLaughlin) Moyes in Rock Island on February 3, 1967; he served in the U.S. Army during Operation Iraqi Freedom; and

WHEREAS, Matt Moyes worked as a nurse practitioner at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee; and

WHEREAS, Matt Moyes was a member of several professional and medical organizations; and

WHEREAS, Matt Moyes enjoyed spending time with his children and his dog and traveling to see his nephews in South Dakota; and

WHEREAS, Matt Moyes was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Matt Moyes is survived by his children, Shane and Grace; his stepchildren, Krystle and Michael; his brother, John (Michele) Moyes; his nephews, Matthew and Joshua; and his dog, Cooper; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Matthew "Matt" D. Moyes and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Matt Moyes as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
