SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James "Jim" Marvin Mumma, who passed away on June 29, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Jim Mumma was born to Rex and Leona (Lanners) Mumma in Moline on June 4, 1951; he served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Aschaffenburg, Germany; and

WHEREAS, Upon returning from Germany, Jim Mumma began his career at John Deere Harvester, East Moline; after 40 years of employment, he retired in January of 2014; and

WHEREAS, Jim Mumma loved fishing, hunting, and playing cards; most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Jim Mumma was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Marvin Bowles; and

WHEREAS, Jim Mumma is survived by his wife, Kathy; his daughter, Megan (Dan) Matthies; his stepchildren, Drew Kerr, Mackenzie (Steven) Menegus, and Chase (Kelly) Young; his granddaughter, Piper; his grandson, James; his brothers, Kenneth (Debi) Mumma and Randy (Cindy) Mumma; his many cousins; and his mother-in-law, Ruth Bowles; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of James "Jim" Marvin Mumma and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jim Mumma as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
