SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Rabbi Yaakov Rajchenbach, who passed away on August 5, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Rabbi Rajchenbach served as an executive board member of Torah Umesorah and chair of the executive committee of Telshe Yeshiva of Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Rabbi Rajchenbach was a pillar of Chicago's Jewish communities, embodying the spirit of Askanim and laying the groundwork for future Baalei Batim; and

WHEREAS, Rabbi Rajchenbach was a legendary Ba'al Tzedaka and philanthropist who gave charitably to a myriad of causes, building and sustaining countless individuals and organizations; and

WHEREAS, Rabbi Rajchenbach, known fondly as "Jack", was loved by his family and worship community; and

WHEREAS, Rabbi Rajchenbach is survived by his wife, Judy, his children, and his grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Rabbi Yaakov Rajchenbach and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Rabbi Rajchenbach as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
