SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of David William Mehuys of Moline, who passed away on October 20, 2022; and

WHEREAS, David Mehuys was born to William and Ruth (Harms) Mehuys in Germany on October 30, 1950; he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War; he married Rebecca Foreman in Missouri in 2003; and

WHEREAS, David Mehuys worked at the Rock Island Arsenal for many years; and

WHEREAS, David Mehuys loved music and being in the mountains; and

WHEREAS, David Mehuys is survived by his wife; his children, Adam (Anita) Mehuys, Michael Mehuys, and Omega (Stephan) Dipple; his stepchildren, Chad Wright and Emily (Cedric) Cisneros; his granddaughter, Astarael Handelman; his step-grandchildren, Allysa and Averi Wright; and his siblings, Christopher and John Mehuys; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of David William Mehuys and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of David Mehuys as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
