SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Brett A. Blume of Glen Carbon, who passed away on October 3, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Brett was born on January 27, 1964 in Kansas City, Missouri, was a graduate of Triad High School, and lived in the St. Louis area all his life; and

WHEREAS, Brett attended SIU-Edwardsville, earning a degree in Mass Communications in 1986; he worked in the St. Louis area and spent the last 17 years as a reporter for KMOX in St. Louis; and

WHEREAS, Brett married Kathy (Crowe) Blume on May 19, 1990; he was known for being a hard worker and for his wit; he was an avid comic book collector and enjoyed reading anything Star Wars or Star Trek related; and

WHEREAS, Brett was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda (Collins) Blume; and

WHEREAS, Brett is survived by his wife, Kathy(Crowe) Blume; son, Devin Blume; father, Bruce Blume; sisters, Beth (Steve) Barbour and Becky (Wes) Morgan; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and many other close family members and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Brett A. Blume and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Brett A. Blume as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
